hello and a yearly goodbye
I feel a sort of stage fright, as if I've never posted on social media before. I'm just not familiar with this particular platform. Actually I'm quite lacking in probably pretty basic technological knowledge. Teasing myself a little, I feel like an old biddy who would describe a cell phone as "newfangled." But I do know that today is very important to me, as it is the day a beloved mentor and family friend, the Pulitzer winning poet Steve Dunn, was born (June 24, 1939) and also the day he died (June 24, 2021.) I feel fluttery and more alive, more confident, when I reread his letters. I will be lighting a candle for him at dusk. Here is a very light sampling of his work:

in reply to ali • • •@ali I know the feeling. Don't worry about the technical stuff. If you have a question, just ask. I'm sure there will be someone who can help. You never stop learning here, which I really like. Don't lose heart, it's worth it.
To make your posts findable, you should use hashtags. You can also follow hashtags, e.g. #poetry.
